Hi - Can anyone give me a method of ordering the buttons on the POS screen (alpha sort)? I have 3 pages of cocktail names in random order - is there something I can do in the POS configurator that will force them into alpha order?

Thanks

Phil - a newbie

Hi,
Will go through the steps from the beginning, starting with the menu item

1) Look @ the SLU number (say 100)
2) Goto Descriptors\Menu Item SLU and look for the SLU 100. Take note of the STYLE (say 101 Bistro Food).
3) Goto Devices\Touchscreens\Styles and select Style 101.
There is a checkbox there for "Alphebatize Keys"

If you have a RES4 system, there should be folders near each of the details where we take note of the numbers in each step above, which will take you directly to the next step.
If you have RES3 follow the steps as above

Back on the Menu Item, there is a box called SLU PRIORITY.
Blank is the highest priority. You can add numbers here up to 9999, and it will list the items in numerical order.

If you do the steps above in my earlier posting, it
will display the items in ALPHABETICAL ORDER and grouped in SLU PRIORITY. Example (Gin 5, Vodka 5, Whisky 1, Tequila 1) will display in the following order:

Tequila
Whisky
Gin
Vodka

People find Alphabetical easy, and if you group by the SLU PRIORITY, you can have your most popular cocktails first, less popular, then remainder based on 3 SLU group numbers. They dont have to be sequential.

Dig it?
