Micros 3700 MDS HTTP Service failing

Hi,

I am running Micros Res3700 V5.2 on Server 2008.

My issue is that the MDS Http service is failing at random times during the course of a day for no apparent reason. I have read some documentations from Micros and according to them this was suppose to have been fixed in V5.1, but the problem persists.

My fix in the mean time has been to force the service to restart if it fails, and I have setup a scheduled task to restart this service every 30min, just in case. This surely is not the solution? Any ideas?

Which maintenance release are you running of 5.2

They had further fixes for the MDS service in MR1, 2 and 3.
There has been problems with the MDS HTTP Service ever since the early days of v3 and earlier.

And yes I have had this same issue with V4.7, not just as extreme as it seems to be at the moment.

I have not installed a maintenance release at this site. Would you suggest doing so? And should I jump to the highest one on V5.2?

OK, for anybody that has this problem in future.

The easiest fix seems to be the V5.2 Nova patch, which also according to the documentations resolves this issue.

I believe that the MR patches would also have solved this, but to run any of these patches you first have to run the Micros 5.2 pre req that updates Sybase to V16, from here you can then install the MR patches, but this is obviously a timely process, so I only decided to run the Nova patch.
