Hey Guys,

If you read my earlier post, your aware we're working with a restaurant with Micros 3700 (rest have Aloha). We have the 3700 setup correctly (for the most part), but the owner is wanting the KDS screens to display similar to Aloha. We have the colors fixed, but specifically looking for:

- Aloha has pink (don't care what color) lines separating tickets on their KDS. On Micros 3700, it appears the tickets will just go and go and go (if a table has say 10+ seats).

- Is there a way to format Micros 3700's KDS so it draws lines to separate tickets? (It can get hard to tell where tickets end and new ones begin when you have several screens.)

Micros 3700 version is 4.9.4.3103, if needed.

Thanks!

And I've played with the KDS Themes/Displays (all 100 or so), but I can't seem to find a way to have the KDS leave permanent lines to separate the tickets like the Aloha restaurants.

Thanks again!

Not sure what you mean Ours display as a virtual bill per table Table number, server, bill time, items ordered and there condiments. One bill per order sent to the kitchen.

@ Wildbar,

Ours does the same thing, however the way Aloha's KDS works is a little different... They have pink divider lines (never been able to find a way to change the color but that's irrelevant) and separate tickets into blocks. To my knowledge, Micros simply "stacks" the tickets per bill (left to right). Essentially, (if possible) to add divider lines per ticket.

Here is an example (picture):

Thanks again in advance!

I don't know about putting a line between the chits, but you might want to try playing with the serpentine mode on your KDS screens. It sounds like you may be in TSR mode, which basically tries to optimize screen space. If you use horizontal or vertical modes you put them in more of a table grid and tell the screen how many rows and columns to display.

It's buried in the configurator - Devices / Devices / Kitchen Display / Display / General.

pmegan,

That worked perfectly! Horizontal and Vertical modes both draw gridlines similar to Aloha --- The TSR mode essentially stacks the tickets.

Thank you!!!

Good to hear you found a solution. Can i ask what happens though when you get a bill that has more information then will display in a set size box? Always like to see how others approach things.
Thanks

Wildbar,

In vertical mode, the bump bar (up/down) function is utilized. In horizontal mode (which we opted to use), it still moves them left to right (top to bottom), but keeps the grid lines on the screen. The grid lines are convenient as this location does several large volume tables and multiple seats can make it difficult to separate appetizers/entrees/desserts/etc.

Thanks for your help everyone!
