Hello,

I am currently trying to set up a happy hour menu for our restaurant. The Happy Hour pricing works at the time that I have specified, but when we select more then 1 happy hour priced item the prices for the next happy hour item is the original pricing (not the discounted price set up on menu level 9). Do you know what I can do to turn Happy Hour pricing for all items?

Here is what I have done so far: I followed the steps from this thread (
-I have set up the happy hour pricing for menu level 9 for all menu items
-I have set up the time periods in System: Start Time 3 PM End Time 6 PM Monday--Friday. Serving Period is NOT checked.
-I have set up the Happy Hour time periods in "Menu Levels"-->"Auto Menu Levels". Period: Happy Hour Main Menu Level: 1 Sub Menu Level: 9
-I have set up the "Menu Item Classes"-->"Price/Totals"-->"Enable prices 2 through 10" checked marked and "Use sub menu level for prices" checked marked.

Any tips or ideas on how to resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance for all your help!

Sounds like the menu levels are set to pop-up. In the check header area, the display will show the active menu levels during a transaction, that will help you determine issues with levels.

I forgot to mention the work around I have in place currently. In order to get the additional happy hour priced items to be priced correctly, I am going into Configurator-->Sales-->Menu Levels-->Pop up to Sub Level-->9. After Happy Hour is over, I go back into this screen and change the Pop up to Sub Level drop down back to 1 where the regular pricing is located. During Happy Hour time the screen does show the menu as "Happy Hour" and when Happy Hour is over it shows "Price A".

Thanks again!

Change the menu levels to stay down (don't specify a pop up level)

Hello Microslady, thank you for all your help! Can you walk me through the process to change the menu levels to stay down? I tried changing the menu levels to "Blank", but it was creating other issues with our regular priced items.

Thank you!

Go to POSCONFIG, Devices, Touchscreens, Styles. Find the touchscreens you want to fix and enable the "Stay down" option

Hello Wildbar,

I checked the touchscreen styles sections and found that "Stay Down" is checked for all my touchscreens. Do you have another suggestion to resolve this issue?

Thank you for all your help!

Making your touchscreen styles stay down will only effect which buttons are displayed on the screen.

Try changing the menu levels pop up field to be blank (so they stay down) for only the levels that the happy hour items are linked to.

Hello Microslady,

I also tried making my menu levels blank-which worked, until our cashiers alter the order (i.e. change from regular cheese to easy cheese) then the following menu items that are selected end up using the "easy" menu level line. It's a really weird problem....and I am having a hard time believing that Micros is unable to handle happy hour menus.

Thanks again for your help!

Sounds like your sub levels are being used for both happy hour (which need to stay down and are established by time of day) and condiment levels like "easy" (which typically pop up to the default level and are changed by pressing a button). It would require some custom programming to make the condiments pop up to the happy hour level only during happy hour.

It is best to use one set of levels (main or sub) for prices that need to change by time of day (happy hour) and the other set of levels for prices that need to change by pressing a key (easy)
