Does anyone know if it is possible to restrict tips from a certain employee or employee class?

Customer has an employee class and is running into issue where employees are declaring tips as cashier and its hard to determine which employee the tips belong to for payroll... I would like to find a way to disable tips for either the "Cashier" employee or "Cashier" employee class...

Thanks!

And just as a FYI...

- Changing the "Charge Tips" privilege doesn't work because the cashier needs to charge tips on behalf of the servers.

- Already disabled "Declare Cash Tips," but this doesn't prevent the "Cashier" from accepting credit card tips.

Ideally, blocking the ability to do a credit card tip is the solution the customer is am looking for, ONLY for the "Cashier" or "Cashier Class."

Thanks!

maybe check in pos configurator the employee tab> jobs tab

JeffnLR,

Unfortunately, changing that option disables the cashier's ability to accept tips for servers. I did find a solution this afternoon, if you're interested...

Turn off the cashier's ability to create new tables or modify existing tables, deny transfers [send/receive] (already set), and only accept payments. This prevents (to my knowledge) the cashier from ever being able to take a tip to begin with...

Thanks!

Set a $0 overtender HALO on your credit card tenders. Tender/Media setup, Tender tab.
Enable Tender/Media over HALO privileges for your server/bartender class(es)and make sure its isn't enabled for your Cashier class - Employee Classes, Options tab.

Just curious, why are your tips posting to the cashier and not the server? This shouldn't happen unless the cashiers are transferring the checks to themselves instead of just picking them up, or if the "Current round posts to transaction employee" Revenue Center option is checked for some reason.

Thanks pMegan, I'll try that!

I don't believe it's intentional---mostly to go orders when the cashier answers the phone and/or bar orders the cashier does in the waiting are. The problem is determining tips for payroll, so if I can eliminate the cashier tip option, there's no issue.
