OK so i been working on this system for about 2 weeks now and everything has been fine going.. Now in the last day before opening i went to clear totals so we could start fresh. It asked if i was sure then told me to reboot this system. So i followed the directions given to me by the micros dealers to stop the FOH and then reboot BOH then bring restaraunt back up then reboot all nodes.. After that all my workstations booted up waiting for a MD5 something.. ten minutes later i go back to BOH server and there is a micros control panel or something quit working warning... i clicked dont send, then the control panel seemed to still be functioning so i tried stopping FOH again and rebooted server again.. the server will not come back on now.. just sits there with all the lights and fans running.. any help would be greatly appreciated !

We open monday morning and the micros dealers are 3 hours away and charge a arm and a leg to come out..

Thanks for any help

Hard reboot your server (hold the power button in for 10 seconds or worst case just unplug for a bit and plug it back in)
Does it boot into Windows? What version of Windows is it? Does it require a password to log on? Is it logiing on as the Administrator account?

Hey wildbar and thanks! Well its back up now. They told us to unplug the power and hold in the power button for 15 seconds to drain any juice left, then wait 30 minutes and plug back in, and that worked. So its back up and running now.. but this seems to happen almost everytime the BOH is rebooted.. Had to disable and reenable nic card to get the database back online also. Im curious if maybe this pc is having some hardware issues as this seems really strange to me. He also said that we had to be sure nothing was plugged into the designated micros power outlets except micros terminals... we did have a fridgerator plugged into one of them but it wasnt causing a breaker trip. Also i moved 2 of the terminals to different locations so they are no longer plugged into the designated outlets. Does that really make some sort of difference as long as no breakers are tripping?

Thanks again Wildbar!

I would never plug a computer into a circuit that has a motor on it (as in a fridge) Your best to go with dedicated circuits as much as you can, especially for the server. And the server should be on a battery back up / power conditioner.
