Hi All,

I am using condiments to represent my yogurt flavors and I have a few specific flavors that have an upcharge of $.50. Now my issue is for the pick 2 flavor yogurts if they pick two of the upcharge flavors there are two upcharges for $.50 making it a total upcharge of $1 when I would like it to only be $.50. Is this possible? Any and all advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks

I believe you can add the price to the Condiment item. Not sure if 9700 condiments are similar to 3700.

From what i understand he only wants to charge 50 cents even if 2 of the upcharge items are chosen?
If this is the case you could do it a number of ways;
1) Use two or more groups of condiments with only the first group having upcharges for those items (this setup you would have to train the staff to always chose the upcharge flavour as the first condiment)
2) Use combo meals and roll up the prices as needed.
3) Use an auto discount and discount the second upcharge off the bill.

Change the menu item price to enable prices 2 - 10. Then set it up to change the menu level once they ring in an item. This would be in your min max settings. The tricky part? The system doesn't care if the up-charge item is what was rung in or not. You might want to separate the priced and non priced ones into two groups.

Wildbar you hit it on the head exactly what I was trying to accomplish.
For option 1 this is what I was planning but again the issue of ensuring staff actually presses the upcharge flavor first.
Option 2 I've thought about but dont think it will be the right fit for our POS
Option 3 seems like a good choice to try out i've just never used the auto discount features. Any advice in this area?
Thanks again.

How many different options are there and how likely are they to change? You could consider a hard coded screen where the priced items do a next screen. That would be very tedious though.

You could also consider a SIM that changed the price level once a priced condiment is used.

If you are going to try the discount what version of 3700 are you at? If a high enough version (cant remember when it was brought in) you need to turn on "auto discounts" in Revenue Center, RVC Transactions. You should then be able to setup an auto discount using the combo discount as a Rule Setup. Your Trigger Groups will need to be two groups of the charged condiments. If items from both groups get called your reward will be 50 cents off. You may need to play around with it a bit to get it working the way you want. Remember to set it as an item discount. Hope this helps.
