Hi all,

I am new here but use these forums often to solve some problems I sometimes have. However, I have a recent problem that I have not found a solution to. Any help will be appreciated.

I called our Micros vendor about a new back office printer that went out. He said that the HP 2055dn is compatible with the Micros system and that we would have to call in to get Micros reprogrammed when we changed printers.

My question is...are there any other printers that are compatible with Micros 3700? Also, can I program the Micros system myself? I assume it would just be a few steps in the process. Again thanks for any help.

I am assuming that you are talking about the report printer on the server. I have used many different printers, I purchased my own printers when we installed Micros, They wanted way to much for the printers from the dealer. Most of them are the Brother 5140, I beleive that most printeres are compatable with Micros for the report printer. Hopefully someone will correct me if I am wrong. It should only be a matter of installing the printer drivers, setting it as the default printer, then you have to make a few other changes such as the autosequence clear local printer setting ? not sure what other steps are involved, I am not at one of out stores now. Someone here will jump in and help.

Long story short you can buy your own printer and set it up yourself and not have to pay the dealer cost to "Program

Any BOH printer can be used as all the reports generally use A4 Letter templates. Only 2 steps are required:

1. Install the printer onto the server, it may even be a network printer.

2. In configurator, go to the RESTAURANT tab and select Restaurant. On the first tab there is a select box for the Default Printer. Select this.

Restart the server completely and test an autosequence to see it print on your new printer
