MICROS 3700 5.4mr2 db - totals will not clear

Trying to clear totals in a 3700 5.4 mr2 db. After 1 1/2 hours totals still have not finished clearing. Is there a fix for this? Never had this problem before, normally totals clear in a few minutes or so.
