We have two network cards in our MICROS Server. One of the networks is an isolated micros network running on its own subnet. The other is our private work network running on a different subnet than the micros network.

Is it possible to get POS configurator/Autoseq & Reports to run on manager computers that are on the private work network? CAL installs just fine, its when I run the programs and it tries to link with the database it gives the error of - never even gives me a chance to login.

"Database Error: Unknown user name or password. [Sybase][ODBC Driver][SQL Anywhere]Invalid user ID or password Alias:micros"

It worked fine with every version of res for the last 10 years, but not so much in 5.2.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Jason

I've had that happen on Micros servers in 5.1 and 5.2 and it's pretty much unrecoverable. From what little information I've been able to get on this, it's because the encrypted credentials in the registry for the micros and/or dba user(s) don't match those that are in the database.

Is this a test or a production PC that you're running CAL on? If it's a test, you can try blowing out the UserData registry key, (HKLM\Micros\UserData), on the PC and importing it from the server. Make sure you run \Windows\SysWOW64\regedit.exe if you're using a 64bit operating system on either computer.
