Micros 3700 - 2014 Sybase PCI Patch

I found out from multiple sources that versions 11 and older of Sybase ASA, which is used by almost every version of 3700, will be EOLed at the end of May. This includes 5.2 base, which many are basing images upon.

At present, the only two versions that are compliant are 4.12 MR1a and 5.2 MR1a which use Sybase 16 - however, a corresponding Enterprise Management release for these is not yet ready. Those about to deploy a 5.x update might want to incorporate MR1a into your build image to save on work later. If you are an EM shop, be prepared for a top-to-bottom upgrade cycle once the server package is released.

According to a Micros Publication, RES 3700 Version 4.11 is PCI Compliant until 10/28/2016.

Will the ASA Version make this non-compliant simply due to an EOL?
Will this version (4.11) still remain compliant?

I would greatly Appreciate Any & All Insight That You Could Provide!

Thanks In Advance,
KWPC

I believe Micros only issues PA-DSS compliance status updates for their software. As the 4.XX code base will only run on XP and 2003, it's only PCI-compliant until those operating systems go EOL - unless you buy Extended Support from Microsoft.

That said, 4.11 to 4.12 MR1a is a fairly simple jump to make in the grand scheme of things - backup, prereq then patch, then new prereq and new patch. The two database conversions run longer than the patches themselves.
