micros 2700 full keyboard reprogram keyboard

I am currently using a sytem that has alot of look up screens that it would be nice to change. The original setup is cumbersome. As it is setup now when you click on jack daniels as to what your mixer is(coke,sprite,etc) It does this on every spirit key. The plan wan to reformat the keyboard to have the top 20 drinks(jack n coke, gin juice, domestic beer happy, domestic beer, etc)The thing I don't want to do is mess up the server computer which are the half keyboard, have touchscreen. They need to still be able to do a detailed ring in so when the ticket prints the bartender knows what to make.

I am correct to assume by using the golden key and going into the keyboard edit I acan acomplish this but have to do it for each machine and also need to know the hex codes?

Be careful. The items call out the modifers. The items you would have to reprogram might be the same as used on the touch screen. I would call in a programmer.

Look at Dinerware.com, you could avoid this with it. This is the main reason it was written. So you could do all this yourself with out a hassle.
