Is there anyone that knows whether the MICRODASH internal USB modem V.92 supports Caller ID at all. I have not been able to get a YES or NO from serveral sources: AppleCare, Apple's web site, Google research, etc. Even Apple's documentation doesn't state yes or no.
Even with applications like "Silica 1.2" and talking direct to the modem with Z-Term, no help. As with Z-Term the modem acknowledged the command: AT+VCID=1 with "OK" but the only response I get is "RING", "RING", "RING"... NO CID info!
For the record I have tried this on a 12" G3 iBOOK w/ 10.3.3, 14" G3 iBOOK w/ 10.4.?, and a G4 POWERBOOK w/ 10.3.9. These are USA machines in California. (The phone line does have CID, I use a CIDCO PA25).
Then there is the modem firmware & driver which seems to be a floating crap game! With 10.3 it shows as v2.6.3, but on 10.4 it shows as v2.6.6 for both f & d! Since when does an OS update change firmware??
Something very odd going on here...
Any help would be appreciated, Thanks in advance!
