Hi,

I am using Crystal XI SP1.

Has anyone ever worked with micr fonts for printing checks in Crystal? Is this possible in CR XI? How do you set it up?

Thanks so much in advance.

You need to download or purchase MICR fonts. Then just format the field(s) you need, it is no different than formatting as times new roman or arial or tahoma, except for the appearance of course.

Hi dgillz,

I do have the MICR fonts already. They are in a separate folder by themselves. Where do I place these fonts so that I can access and choose them? I have one font showing in the fonts drop down box as OCR A Extended but I don't think this is it.

You may find yet another problem once you get the fonts working in Crystal:

Most, if not all banks read these characters magnetically, not optically. MICR stands for Magnetic Ink Character Recognition. You will need to use magnetic toner in your laser printer to create output that can actually be read by the banking system.
