Micollab Meeting settings

For some reason my meeting invites are showing my internal IP address instead of DNS. Does anyone know where to change this to DNS?
I have a Mitel 3300.

If you connect to the server using the FQDN it will use the DNS.

If you connect via IP it will use the IP

Additionally,

The internal DNS should resolve to the Internal address
The external DNS should resolve to the external address
The Host name of the micollab must match the DNS entry

e.g.
Host Name = micollab.abc.com
Local DNS = micollab.abc.com = LAN IP
Ext DNS = micollab.abc.com = Public IP

Yes understood but the client is creating this in the meeting when creating it.
It puts the IP address in the invite instead of the DNS name.
I am sure there is a setting somewhere to set the DNS name that will be on the invitation instead of the IP address correct?

to repeat:

Yes I understand the difference.
When the invite is created from my outlook client it is putting in the IP not the DNS.
So when this goes out to an external invitee they have an IP that means nothing to them.
Do you know where the setting is for that the outlook client is using so it can be updated?
I am sure it is pulling it from the server as multiple users have the same issue.

Can I ask if you have tried to connect to the system using the FQDN?

You haven't said one way or the other and your responses seem to be ignoring my recommendations.

Yes it works with the FQDN and the IP address.

Again your response is quite ambiguous.

If you are now saying that when you connect using the FQDN that it publishes the IP address then call Mitel because that is not normal behaviour.

If you are not saying that, then please try to be more clear. I'm about done here.

Its best when trying to make conference invitations work if you NEVER access via IP
if you stop referring to it working via IP then this will become easier for everyone to understand that you are not accessing it via IP when getting the invitations setup

what version of Micollab are you running , is it the latest ?

the old outlook plugin wasn't very good , the new one is not too bad (6.3.18.0)

when you configured the outlook plugin DID you use the FQDN ?

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....
