MiCollab integration with Lync/Skype

Has anyone managed to integrate lync/skype with micollab? My understanding you can do this by setting up a federation but I have never done this before.

I do not want the micollab add-on for lync/skype I want to have MiCollab Client users and lync/Skype users able to see presence between platforms and be able to send IM's.
