MiCD hardware monitoring

Does anyone have experience with monitoring tools for an MiCD server, a customer wants monitoring for hardware failures such as powersupply or harddisk failure.

Most customers use the iLo card on the server
This is capable of doing all the monitoring and reporting.

I know what the ILO card is, most server are being placed in secured datacenters, and I install the MSL-software through the ILO, but can ILO automaticly send messages of PSU failures or harddisk failures?

good question!
I think you will need to contact the hardware vendor I am sure there must be a hardware failure monitoring feature in iLO

If you have a HP server then iLO will provide the following through SNMP forwarding

The following alerts are identified and forwarded by iLO:
Alert ID Description
22005 Enclosure temperature failure
22006 Enclosure temperature degradation
22007 Enclosure temperature OK
22008 Enclosure fan failed
22009 Enclosure fan degraded
22010 Enclosure fan OK
22013 Rack power failure
22014 Rack power degraded
22015 Rack power supply OK
22023 Rack server failed; not enough power

Thanks, I will look into that. I can see some snmp setting in ILO, but also certain things in combination with HP-insight manager installed on the server, that is a problem.

I have 4 HP servers type DL380-G7, but Mitel does not support the use of insight manager on a server with MICD installed. This was the preferred method of monitoring for our customer, but because Mitel doesn't support that, we are looking at different options.
