Hi

Can anybody please explain the relationship between the account used to install MiCC and SQl.

I know it needs full admin rights not just local admin

does it need to be the same account and password?

or can you have different accounts both will full admin

does the SQL server have to be a on its own or can it be a shared server with other databases?

Thanks

are you referring to a remote SQL?

we always ask for a service account 9 domain) that has local admin rights on the MICC server
- no gpo retrictions that might affect installation of software
- for sql that account should be made a sysadmin of the sql
this allows it to create the cmmdata databases
from HO2396
"This requires a domain user who is a sysadmin in the local SQL instance, as well as a sysadmin in the remote SQL instance (the latter can be removed after the migration has been completed) "

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

The account needs have DBCreator role or SysAdmin role to ensure it's able to create the MiCC databases in the SQL.
SQL account can be a different account, this account will need to be specified during the setup wizard.
