Upgrading to Multimedia MiCC will require a remote instance of a licensed version of SQL as well as the SQL Express version remaining on the MiContact server. This is to allow the db's to be larger than 10GB which is what SQL Express permits.
You will need to follow these steps as a rough guide:
1. Upgrade MiCC server to 32GB RAM.
2. Migrate SQL databases from SQL Express to licensed version on remote server.
3. Backup MiContact db and data folders.
4. Upgrade MiContact software and enter new SQL details when asked.
5. Restore MiContact db.
6. Configure multimedia servers as required.
There is an Install and Deployment doc on Mitel online for Multimedia taking you through these steps in much more detail.
external SQl isnt mandatory but should be considered based on call traffic
FYI - the multimedia storage folder ( containing the messages is stored on the server and not within SQL )
reporting + one other routing method( IVR OR Multimedia - requires 16 GB RAM)
Reporting + IVR+Multimedia requires 32GB RAM
add multimedia licenses to ARID and then rerun the setup wizard and select multimedia as an installed option
after that the additional YSE menu items should be displayed
If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....
I think Multimedia require Premium ports/licenses.
So if you are using standard ports, you should be careful as you will lose the 240 standard ports that comes with MiCC basic licensing when you add in the Premium ports.
