Hello,

I am fairly new to UNIX and I am trying to ftp some files from one server to another. I know the mget command will allow me to transfer multiple files but how do I get it to:

1. Not ask me to confirm each file as it comes accross

and

2. Allow me to transfer entire directory trees.

Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Richard Rowlandson

prompt off

stops asking you to confirm.

You MAY want to turn on "hash" if you are getting large files- that way you know it's not hung.

Recursive mget depends on the server entirely. If it won't, it's not hard to script this if you know what you are after.

BTW, you might find that "ncftp" is better for you in general..

Another "trick": to pipe a directory through more

dir .|more

(notice the "." and no space after the "|" )
