I reconfigured my old gateway from H323 to MGCP for the purpose of installing an FXO card. For some reason? When I look at the Call Manager interface for the gateway, it shows not registered. Ive ran a debug on the MGCP packets and keep seeing each FXO card mismatch. If I change the hostname of the gateway and update it in Call Manager, than it registers. Not sure what the problem is? Maybe switchport configuration? Any pointers would be appreciated!

so it registers with a certain hostname name but not another?
Make sure the hostname is identical in cucm as it is in the voice gateway. Including the domain name if you have one configured.

So, thats exactly what I've done. Initially I couldnt get the gateway to register, than I added the domain after the hostname and it registered. The nextday I took a look in call manager and it wasnt registered. I changed the hostname on both the MGCP Gateway and Call Manager, registered right away, than an hour later unregistered.

what version of cucm and what IOS on the router?
Can you post your MGCP config from the voice gateway?
