I'm preparing IPMG for upgrade. But somehow after it has done checking:

Upgrade of CSP loadware initiated.

I got this:

mgcNfccFileGet: nfcCopyFile returned E_FAIL.
Failed to retrieve the file [/p/sl1/loadware/MGCCAD31.LD] within specified tries.

Am I missing the loads or what actually am I missing here?. Thanks.

You will need to do this procedure

MGC Default to Gold Image

To get the MGC Card to boot to the Gold Image you must get to the MGC bootrom prompt. Use the following steps to do this.

1. Reboot the MGC Card
2. as it is booting type <CTRL> B just after the creation date is printed and the
{VxWorks Boot} prompt should be displayed.
3. at the prompt type in “test”
4. choose option b to change boot options
5. select option 2 to force csp to boot from gold image once
6. select option 0 to return to previous menu
7. press return key to exit menu and return to prompt
8. enter @ at the prompt
9. the mgc will boot to the gold image

To format the compact flash from the gold image you must press <CTRL> I when prompted during the MGC gold boot. This will bring up a VxWorks prompt ->, At the prompt enter, diskformat “all” This will format the MGC’s internal compact flash. Reboot the MGC and when it registers to the call server it will automatically upgrade.

and sometimes, you can go to ld 117 and disable secure transfers

LD 117
=>dis tran sec

If this works for you, which it has many times for me, you just need to remember to enable when you are done.

LD 117
=>enl tran sec

For some reason, the MGC won't get it's information, sometimes, when this is enabled.

Hope this helps.

Thank you KCFLHRC AND janaya...

I've completed the procedure and now just trying to diskformat "all" on the CF but I've got this message:

Warning!!! The hard disk will be formatted and all data will be lost.

Do you want to proceed? (y/n/[a]bort) :

I'm working and upgrading only on the MGC that is on card 4 0 but I have 2 other MGC cards that are on card 0 0 and 0 1.
If I answer "y" for yes, from my understanding looks like the diskformatting the cf is going to affect not only on MGC 4 0 but also my other 2 MGC's?
Thanks again.

If you seeing that message after doing the procedure properly then say y or yes at that message. You will need to do this for each MGC card but make absolutely sure you are connected to the MGC card and not the call server. I don't remember seeing that message but it has been a while since I did that procedure. You also need to get the latest loadware on those MGC cards.

If you are plugged into the MGC TTY 0 then you can only affect the one you are plugged into then if you want to default I usually just do mgcIPClear then diskFormat at the "ldb>
