MGC Boot

During a successful boot of a DW60 MGC or a DW59 CPMG card at some point you will get
"LOG006 TNC: Channel Creation Successful"
an then the cards will enable
"LOG006 CLAN: Card Type: 17 Signaling type: 1: Map Type : 3"

Occasionally I have seen the boot complete without this happening and although the DSP's go idle the line cards will not enable. A reboot fixes this issue but not always. Has anyone encountered this issue and do you know why the boot is "incomplete".

Thanks

The first thing MGC cards do after they register with the Call Server is verify their loadware. If there is a loadware mismatch then the MGC will try to upgrade. I'm guessing this may be what is happening to you, not sure though.

Don't think so KCF. I've done hundreds of these and the upgrades can complete succesfully without the line cards enabling.
I have no idea what causes this to happen.

After the MGC loadware upgrade is completed the card should reboot by itself. Is that happening? I have occasionally had to flatten the MGC cards back to the Gold Image to get them to upgrade properly too. If a reboot fixes it then sounds like you have a plan.

Yes the MG does reboot but the line cards will not enable.
This occurs more with the CPMG cards than the MGC's but I've seen it on both.
Very puzzling.
