MGC all VGW channels Disabled and unregistered

CS1000E Rls 5 system with 3 Media Gateways 0 0, 4 0 and 4 1.

MGC 4 0 is found to be up and registered as shown below, but unable to enable the VGW channels.

Please can anyone advise...

Make sure the DSP DB installed in MGC and configured in same slot.Also try to ping dsp ip address from your network.

Is there anyway to check remotely, I can see VGWs configured on 4 0 0, therefore I think there should be a DSP DB .

In addition, the actual problem is phone extns programmed on the DLC in MG 4 0 are not able to make or receive external calls, which I believe is related to the VGWs..Note the PRI card is in MG 0 0.
In addition phones programmed in MG 4 1 do not have this problem.

It is very possible that the MGC is not registered properly in the UCM. If that is the case you will have the exact scenario you have. Do a stat ucm sys in ld 117 and see if all MGC's are registered. If they show that they are you may have to do it again. Any time you make a call between cabinets you use a VGW channel, whether it's an outbound or internal call, doesn't matter. If you leave your media gateway you use a VGW channel. You may have to force register it into the UCM via the command line in the MGC card.
