MG FW Upgrades

All my MG's are LSP's (w/s8300's) and I'm in the process of upgrading CM from 6.0.1 to 6.3.5. When should the FW on these remote MG's be upgraded? Should they be done in conjunction with it's s8300 or do they go last after the core CM's are upgraded? Trying to understand the compatibility matrix, as they don't clearly reference the whole LSP scenario.

At my core site are G650's and I see what is necessary on the boards such as (IPSI, CLAN, MEDPRO), but what if I have DS1 boards that are not upgradable and the matrix shows the requirement for a higher hw/fw version? Do those need to be replaced with newer or will they be fine as is?

I just performed the same upgrade recently, CM 6.0.1 to 6.3.8. I upgraded all MG firmware about a month ahead of upgrading the 8300s and then my core servers. I upgraded my MEDPROs after the CM upgrade and have yet to touch my other TN boards. No issues. I think as long as the firmware you are running is not ridiculously behind, you should not encounter an issue.

Board firmware, then gateway firmware, then CM release.

Don't worry about the TN464F's instead of GPs or HPs
