MFP can't browse server2008

Hi everybody, i'm french, and i need to connect and mfp (copy, scan, printer) NRG M2500C. on the copier menu, i can't set the path \\serv2008\sharefolder_name\ and i set the user and passwd. the message say "can't connect". doing the same thing i can connect to a windows xp machine. can anyone help me. perhaps something to change on the server. the technical man who maintain the mfp didn't know what to do.
