Hoping someone can answer what is probably an easy Q.

I have implemented a MetaFrame XP FR2 server. From the Internet I can access this including logon via a web browser but when I try to run a desktop or published app I get :

There is no Citrix server configured at the specified address.

I am able to connect and run apps using Program Neighborhood.

I figured it is a port on the Firewall not open, can anyone advise exactly what ports should be open, in which direction and for which protocol.

Would be VERY grateful !!!

Regards

If you have installed the XML service, port 80 and port 1494 should be enough. You are accessing via explorer your site. How do you do this? With NFUse, or just with a html ica file ? In the second case, check the ica file and check the html file for the proper serversettings.

Before you can access a Metaframe server from an internet address you need to configure the metaframe server so it is aware of all the IP addresses it services. By default it is configured to service only the address bound to the LAN card installed in the server, however when it is internet accessible it is probably behind a NAT firewall or similar. For this to work you need to know the internet address of the outside interface on the firewall (or all IP addresses the server will service if it is in a DMZ).
You need to configure whats know as the AltAddress.

From a command prompt on each Citrix server type:
Altaddr /set IPADDRESS
eg altaddr /set 203.23.204.241

Then just ensure that ports 80/1494/1604 are open and redirected to the citrix server(assuming you haven't changed any from defaults)

Hope this helps...

Neil
