metakit and tkcon

I have a weird problem I was hoping for verification on.
When working with metakit in tkcon when I call->
mk::file dbname close
Tkcon expires immediately. Pid and file descriptor
snuffed.
The platform is linux, kernel 2.4.14, tcl 8.3.4, metakit
2.4.7-37 rev. and installed from source.
The package was not loaded only the required lib:
libmk4tcl.so
Is anybody else using metakit and can they verify this behavior?
