I have a question regarding Load Balancing. Will Metaframe XPa work on a pair of server using Microsoft Network Load balancing? I would like for my users to be able to hit one IP address and login into either server. Does anyone know if this is possible and if it will work?

Thanks,
Ben

I don't think you can do Network Load Balancing with Terminal Services. You can, however, accomplish your goal since you have XPa.

Why not publish the desktop, load balance it (since you have XPa) and then point your clients to the published desktop?

Microsoft provide a rudimetary form of Load-Balancing, based on a DNS Round-Robin.

In my tests, it breaks Citrix Load-Balancing - so I'd guess the two are mutually exclusive.

Why not just use Citrix LB, which comes with XPa, and simply point the users at your published applications instead of IP addresses? That's kind of the point.

Hope this helps CitrixEngineer@yahoo.co.uk
