Metaframe XP and 1.8 Working Together

We need to run Metaframe XP and 1.8 together but in separate farms.
So, XP is in one farm doing its thing and Metaframe doing its thing.
The problem is if the 1.8 is brought on-line the XP Farm and
applications are not longer available. I get an error stating the
server cannot be reached. If I power off the 1.8 server and reboot
the XP server, I gain access to the farm again. Note that the XP
server is in Native mode not mixed. Does any know why this appends
or a work around?

At first glance I'd guess client settings - have you tried setting the alternative server locations?

You should be able to add both farms to Program Neighborhood in the clients via Application Set Manager. Check the properties in ASM.

We currently have it running on 2 separate networks,and it does work fine that way, what we're looking for is to have it run on the same segment. We have verified the settings in ASM.

Normally it works fine. Did you install the XML service on your Metaframe 1.8 server ? You must have different ports for your XML service on your Metaframe 1.8 farm and on your Metaframe XP farm
