anyone has an idea how to share citrix licenses between Metaframe for unix 1.1 and Metaframe XPe for Windows 2000 , or is there some special critirea for a Citrix unix machine to join a Citrix XPe Farm .

thank you

A MetaFrame for UNIX server cannot join a MetaFrame XP farm unless the XP farm is in mixed mode instead of the default native mode. This also applies to WinFrame and MetaFrame 1.8 servers. CitrixEngineer@yahoo.co.uk

This thread appears to answer a problem that we have just come across. Maybe someone can give me some insight?

We have had an NFUSE environment running Metaframe XP in mixed mode as well as UNIX connectivity. A couple of weeks ago the Unix access stopped working. On review the only change we have made is to move our Metaframe XP farm to native mode.

Now I haven't seen the unix server in the CMC so I thought that it was using it's own browser etc.

Could this have affected the unix connectivity?

Thanks very much in advance....

I'm afraid so - MFU prior to 1.2 only uses ICA browsing (like WinFrame and MetaFrame 1.x). MetaFrame XP and MFU 1.2 use IMA browsing, so are designed to work together.

It could be upgrade time...

(or create a separate MFU farm, with a UNIX NFuse/WI server)

Hope this helps
