at my company we use prmvs -mainframe-(minimally) in little pockets throughout the company. the tool is mainly used to store scanned cobol copybooks and some erwin data models. trouble is, its not user friendly and so the only users are technical staff. we've found that there is a need by non-tech staff for metadata (column definitions, relationships etc..) as we've found the users have their own ways to store and keep track of this kind of information. does anyone have any suggestions on how to proceed with this? any common directions, for example, that the financial industry is taking in metadata solutions? thanks!
