meta key assignment 1

Trying to assign a meta key to send an escape sequence, example: 'esc - 2', I also need to send ctrl commands. I must be missing something as I cannot find how to do this. Would also be nice to find a list of ways to assign a key function such as sending a 'tab' command, 'enter' command and so on. I have found how to do both of these, but what other combinations are available?

To send an escape 2, you would want the metakey to transmit ^[2

Thanks for the info!! Where do I find a list of the charactors used for keys, such as the [ for the escape key?

I'm not certain there is a good list to look at this. There is a Keyboard Mappings topic in the Procomm help file that lists the different key mappings for each terminal emulation, so that would be a good place to start. However, it doesn't list keys such as using ^[ for Escape, so I'm not certain it's a complete resource.

Thanks, I will go back through Procomm, although I spent a good deal of time there the other day and couldn't find what I needed. I also spent about two hours surfing and it seems to be an immposiible task. I am disappointed in Symantec for not providing more in the help files and even less on their website. Most big outfits have a user forum on their sites that are usually a great source of info. Why they don't have one is beyond me. The outfit that I have to use Procomm with is changing their system out soon and it is promised to be easier to use. I can only hope!!

alt f8 from the term screen then click in the key. before i found that i did a script record to find the key def ^M, including the f keys ]^O
