After reading a whole bunch about these two tags, and how to submit my site to search engines, I am totally confused about what on earth is the difference between the two.....
Could someone tell me so that I can understand please?
TIA

The title tag is just what gets displayed at the very top of your browser window. If you are going to submit your site to search engines, the ones to worry about are the meta tags - in particular, keywords and description. Mise Le Meas,

Mighty is correct. Each search engine will give its own weightings to the various elements (title, keywords, description, abstract, body content, etc.), so it is impossible to say that one is more important than the other; some engines put a lot more emphasis on words appearing in the title, on the theory that the title best represents the site content).

One thing I know for sure: having a good Description is important to getting users to click through to your site once you have appeared in the search results. Robert Bradley
