Hi, running Outlook 2003 and Sharepoint Portal 2003.

Currently our users arent signing into Windows messenger and I have a few questions about it.

Apart from instant messaging and seeing that someone is signed into windows messaging service does it provide any other functionality in regards to sharepoint.

If it is worth using, some of our users are restricted from Internet access, is there a way of runnning this service internally instead of users signing up through the Microsoft Passport Network?

Also does this have any additional security issues that need to be addressed.

Any info on this appreciated.
