I hope that this a simple question with a simple answer

I have just installed Messenger 6.1 replacing my older ver. 4.7

But when I start it, it just signs-in automatically.

How can I get the program to start up by asking me for my Password and not to sign me automatically.

With ver 4.7 I always keep the Communications Service option selected and only change it to the .Net Passport Account when I want to Sign-in, or I would be Signed-in automatically with this ver as well, at least this option stops that from happening.

Being Signed-in to things automatically is real nuisance, unless you want to be.

I would appreciate any help in solving this problem.

I have not used the upgrade path you have done, but usually in the past this will resolve the issue:

Start, Run, control userpasswords2

Look on the second property page to manage .NET password accounts.

You might check under IE, Tools, Internet Options, Security, Internet Zone, Custom level

Go to the bottom of the listings to find "User Authentication" and set it to always prompt for username and password.

Best.
