Under AIX 4.2.1...is there a messaging facility where a message can be broadcast to all online users informing them that the system will be unavailable in 10 mins time. This is to run automatically once a week before the backup is released. All users are connected via static IP addresses.<br><br>Thankyou

All Unix systems unix have the <b>wall</b> command, it only needs access to the terminal or virtual terminal devices of the logged users. to use simply run<FONT FACE=monospace><b>wall</b> "Some text message"</font>or run<FONT FACE=monospace><b>wall</b> < some_text_file_with_message.txt</font>I hope it works...
