Messaging and Fax line 1

I have a Partner r6 or 7 (not at office right now) and have a fax machine on a dedicated analog line not connected through the partner system.
My question is "if I installed a Voice Messaging PC Card could I run the "fax line" through the system and use it for receiving faxes and calling into pickup voice mail?"

Any help would be appreciated

I think the answer is yes, based on another post just below mine. I posted because I wasn't totally sure how to search a "complex" question.

I am a user and owner of the system, not a phone technician.

I would appreciate if someone would confirm my assumption just so I am clear.

Yes, put the Fax line on the system, and the fax machine as an extension. Program the fax extension into Hunt Group 8, and set all the lines for that extension to NO ring. Assign the fax line to be answered by the auto attendant.

When a call comes in, the Partner ACS will listen for CNG tone, and if detected, the call will automatically transfer to group 8, which is the fax machine.

If you are calling in voice-wise, you will reach the auto attendant, and dial *7 to check your messages.
