Currently I have Magix 2.0 and Merlin Messaging 1.1.9. I've setup the Auto-attendant #1 with the following selector codes:
1-4 Direct Extension Transfer (Action code 5)
5 Selector code transfer to calling group 770 (Action code 1)
Dial timeout - Transfer to operator

The direct extension transfers work just fine, but the option 5 doesn't ring at any phone and goes straight to voice mail of the general calling group mailbox. Now when I call this calling group(770) manualy it operates just fine and rings at the appropriate extensions. A few things I have done:
The day menu is what is being used.
All VMI extensions are setup with rotary.

Anyone know what might be causing this?

Eric

I am not sure I understand why you would have the voicemail calling group extension (770) as an option from the AA. Is this a "backdoor" for employees? If so then just *7 to gain access.

Secondly, what exactly is your complaint?

its is not seeing any mode code that it understands,770 is set up as vmi and does not know how to handle the call normally its transfer such calls to the operator when it does not how to answer you can change selector 6 to any other calling group, set up properly, but not 770

First of all, is 770 what he is actually using for his VM group? Using autosetup for VM feature on the phone system uses group 7929.

It sounds like in his original post he uses 770 for a group of phones.

Sorry guys, I setup VMI to group 771. 770 is just a support queue that I setup to receive calls.

do a print out of your calling groups 770 & 771 & post so we can see what they are doing

Here is the configurations on the calling groups

770 - Technical Support Queue
771 - VMI

your calling groups are ok, do you have stations in the 50 range in your system, renimber them so the 5 is free

Currently I don't have any phones on extension 5x range. But just for drill, I created a selector code 6-8 also with extension transfer to call group 770 and they also do the same thing. None of the extensions ring and the call goes straight to the general mailbox.

ok this is what is happening: it looks like you system is set up for 2 digts, and that always lead to problems, you selected 5 for your selector code , it's being used for station 50 -59 on your att when you dial 5 it is waiting for your second digit ,so when that happen it goes to 0/time out what you have to do is renumber your stations 50 to 59 bot you have to relize is when you do go to use your stations 50 -59 they will be a 4 digit station here how to do it in spm go to system renumber
single
statio 50 renumber to 6843
station 51 to 6844
sta 52 to 6845
stas 53 to 6846
sta 54 to 6847
sta 55 to 6848
sta 56 to 6849
sta 57 to 6993
sta 58 to 6994
sta 59 to 6995

eric another thing i see in your 771 calling group is extension 10 ,is your voice mail in the first slot, because that would make station 10 also 0 ,as all at&t ,lucent, & avaya switches logic id #01 always 0 no matter what you renumber it to

I did renumber everything to 3 digit extensions all in the 100 range to no avail. But I did manage to figure out the problem. I looks as though because I created a general mailbox for calling group 770 with no phone assigned that was causing the problem. When I assigned a phone, no everything works just fine. I think since it Messaging thought it was a phantom extension it was always routing to the mail box.

Eric

eric renumber system to set up space, which will put your number station 7100 to 7299 , adjucts 7300 to 7499 this will clear numbers 1 to 6 to renumber .
go to renumber blocks ( system needs to be IDLE )
> start station 7100
> End Station ? say 7199
> new station 100
IT will renumber you first 100 stations to 100 to 199 can now use any selector code from 2 to 6
