My Exchange 2000 server SP2 had been running along fine until recently. I installed SP3 and some Windows 2000 updates and this is when things started going wrong. The SMTP virtual server sends messages fine for a while but then stops and places the messages in the 'messages with unreachable destination' queue. If i force a connection they don't go. There are no obvious errors in the event logs. I have to shut down exchange and then restart and this clears the problem until the next time which can either be hours or days. HELP! what's going on?
