Customer running IP500 4.2 Software.

I have Line 1 Programmed to phone set to not ring

When someone leaves a message on their line it used to double beep when you picked up the line before you would hit *98 to check your messages. Now you never know if there is a message on the line cause it does not double beep to tell you does anyone know why?

Changed from a Nortel 6 x 16 to IP500 and worked fine before the change.. Any thoughts?

Thank You

Justin

Doesn't work, others have tried but no luck as fas as I remember, Avaya prefer you use their VM solutions I guess :)

I think you need to upgrade to version 5

IIRC, there was a change with analogue lines and line appearances - in with prior versions, the IPO generated Dialtone, processed the DTMF and then siezed the line.

With version 5, I believe the analogue line is siezed immediately and the dialtone heard is dial tone direct from the line....

I was looking for the docs to support that (half heartedly) and now I've given up and gone home.

Take Care

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

I didn't think it had changed, or at least I never saw it in the docs, tbh I haven't tested so it could be worth a shot :)

I have tested this and it does not work.. You still dont know if you have a message left but just picking up line 1. Anyone have any other solutions to try?

Use voicemail on the ipoffice.
Then you will not have this problem.
