Here is a strange one,
Have a customer that checks messages everyday @ 4:30P whether the message waiting light is on or not.
They have had several instances where there is no message in the mailbox when the check it but the next morning when they come in there is a message from the previous day that was left @ 2PM (or so).
I could understand if the light just was not being lite (since it is a 2 port system), but not why the message would not appear in the mailbox.
It is a R7, 2 port system
Any ideas?

Check time and date like skip555 said and also make sure only the voice mail ports are in group7.

thanks for the responses,
I have checked the date and time already. I even left a test message in the mailbox. It did turn on the light and when I checked the time stamp on the message it was correct also.
I checked the ports for from 10 up to the messaging ports but I did not check the ports above them.
I don't think the ports would keep the message from even showing up in the mailbox until the next day though.
I went ahead and did a system restart to let the voicemail reboot. Maybe there is just a glitch in it form a power outage or someting.
Any other toughts?

i have had is problem many times with systems not on ups's and surge protection. voice mail almost always needs to be rebooted when that is happening. the only real way to fix it is to replace them vm. the ups helps with keeping the time correct on the acs since it uses the power cycles per minute and not an actual quartz crystal. if the site has a lot of surges then the time will always jump ahead. the ups helps condition the power and prevent spikes and surges

I had the exact same problem with a Partner Messaging 2 Port. After going crazy trying to correct the problem I called Avaya and they suggested increasing the number of ports on the VM. I gave the customer the option to increase to 4 or 6 ports. They opted for the 6 port. After the upgrade they have not had the same problem and that was over a year ago.
