Scenario:
Home PC with Outlook Express.
New VPN connection to corporate network.
New install of Outlook 2003 on home PC.
Configured OL2003 to access the corp Exchange 5.5 server.
Was prompted to make OL2003 my default email program.

Here's the problem...Once the connection was made to the Exchange server and the Inbox was visible "at home", the messages began to delete starting with the newest. I immediately stopped Outlook but not before the most recent messages from the past 10 days were deleted. They did not go into the Deleted Items folder. I accessed my "work computer" from home and opened Outlook on it and the messages were truly deleted. There is no filter running that is hiding the messages. My Outlook Express at home can no longer read messages that were fine before the OL2003 install. Any ideas on this?

The Outlook profile is set to deliver to personal folder not mailbox. Change this at home then move the messages from personal folder back to mailbox then remove personal folder.

Thanks for the reply. That does make sense. This is actually on offsite worker and I'm not going to have anyone physically at that location until late Friday evening. I will check then and advise.

Thanks again for the quick response.

No worries - this actually happens a lot especially when the profile is set up by a user or it was a personal folder and Exchange is added in.

Zelandakh - You were exactly right about this problem. Everything is fine with that PC and the user's mail. Thanks for the prompt reply.

We aim to please! You could show your appreciation for Zel's efforts as well by considering whether he's worth a star?

Glad to give a star...as reminded in the upcoming season, yours led me to the right place.
