Messages are now queing on SMTP

I have an intranet server that has ASP pages that use CDONTS to send mail forms. Well all of a sudden today, the messages are not being sent, they are simply queing. What can I check? The SMTP is running. What else could be wrong?

If they are stuck in the queue, check your DNS settings. You can go to a command prompt and run the following:
NSLOOKUP then enter
>set type=MX then enter
>hotmail.com
If you do not get a list of the MX records for Hotmail.com then you are having a DNS issue. It seems that DNS is all ways the culprit for SMTP queue issues.
