Hello...

I have a strange problem with one of our facility's TDE-600/TVA-200 systems regarding setting up message waiting lamps on flex button. We have 6 sites with TDE-600 switches and TVA-200 voice mails. On all systems, we have phones that are shared with a couple employees. The phone itself has a main number and it's own voice mail. Then, I've set up "portable stations" for the other users. In the Maint Console, all these portable station numbers set to be intercepted by voice mail. And in the TVA-200, the voice mailboxes are set so that "all calls transfer to mailbox".

This worked beautifully ... until a week ago. Now the lamps don't come on when the portable stations get a new message at one of our facilities. The other facilities are fine.

I tried:

1.) Switching digital sets. Nothing.
2.) Rebuilding voice mailboxes. Nothing.
3.) Switching digital ports. Nothing.
4.) Setting up test mailboxes on test phones. Nothing.
5.) Rebooted the TDE and TVA. Nothing.

I don't know why this will no longer work. Any ideas from the pros? (My vendor is out of ideas, too!)

Thanks in advance...

Check the mailbox settings for the ones not working and make sure the user didn't enable call blocking, this will disable the MWL.

I'm not sure where to find that setting for call blocking, but it would be odd that all 3 mailboxes would have that set ... especially since my users wouldn't even know how to do it.

I *did* find something odd. I picked some random mailboxes and added them as "message waiting" on flex keys on a test phone. Some worked, some didn't.

So ... I made a new test mailbox by doing a "copy" function from one of the mailboxes that worked ... and the new test mailbox also worked. So I must assume something went awry with those couple mailboxes ... and the test mailbox I made from scratch. I just wish I knew what, exactly!

I just found that setting in the transfer section, and they're not set to block.

I thought that setting all calls transfer to mailbox will disable the MWL. Are you sure you have that set on the working virtual PS station locations?
