Message waiting lights over CCIS on NEC IPK

I have a customer with two NEC IPK's (I's not II's)on a CCIS link w/a PTP T1. The voicemail is centralized, but the remote site seems to be having trouble with their Message waiting lights being intermittent. (Either not coming on at all or being delayed by hours or sometimes days). Anyone have any suggestions as to why? The master location has no such trouble.
