Message Waiting Light wont turn off 1

On a Merlin Legend--release 7 and a Merlin Mail---the problem I ran into is at extension 10--the lamp will not turn off.

I ensured that the vmail group was 770 and that 10 was a member
I ensured that 10 was in the calling group 30 pointed to 770
I ensured that 770 was linear and not a rotary.

I left a vmail in 10--the lamp lit, I went into 10 and deleted. The lamp stayed on. I wnet back into the vmail box for 10 and no messages were there. I then went to mwl updatea and refreshed. Nothing happened. I then did mwl clear and the lamp went out.

I checked all the other stations and message lamps were lighting and going off after deleting the messages.

I changed the time and date to be almost exact on both the vmail and the merlin.

I unpugged the phone and re-plugged it in---

I do not know where else to take this---I am not sure where or how to approach at this point

Extension 10 is also the default location for the general mail boxes (9991, etc.) One of those may have a message. So, check and "clear" any messages in 9991, 9992, 9993, 9994.

If I cleared all message waiting lights, and no message went into those boxes --- would the message light come back on if there was a message left before I cleared it?

Yes - because there would still have been a message in there. Clearing the lights through central programming - just turns them all off. I would also make sure that no other mailboxes are assigned to extension 10 (in addition to the general mail boxes).

Is the calling group 770 set to "intergrated voice mail" under group type? I assume it is.

yes, 770 is set to intergrated vm.

On the MLX station that has the MW lit:

press the MENU button
select MESSAGES (Msgs)
then press Delete Msgs

This should cancel and reset the MW indicator.
