Check 983/Mbox/XXX/ Message Indicator ON/OFF
If Message For You or MSG on the display works then it's a compatibility issue where you may need 6.1 software for the red light to work.

As mentioned above.. if you have DR5 software (3x8, 6x16, 8x24) then the message indicator will not work.
