I am having trouble with message waitng port 016. Half the card is bad at this time Card 1 port 7-15. and I would like to reroute the message waiting to try port 17 first instead of 16. These are not dedicated Message Waiting light ports. Thanks in advance

What PBX are you using? What cards are you using in the VMX200?

Yes, to help you we need this info, Latvia1..

The PBX is a Option 11. I will take a guess on the VMX card and say it is a DMID card. The Option 11 ports are programmed like 2616 phones with a MIK and MCK key on each port. Here is PORT 24 I have no issues. I would just like to start using Port 24 as the message waiting port and stop using Port 16. Thanks

DO you have a SIC-8 card in your OCTEL Serenade (VMX-200)?
Or are you using NPIC's? Maybe you can read the cards from the VMX, or use .L SLOT to see...

Port 16 is the trouble always gets an error. Port 8 works fine and sometimes 24 will be used and also works. Can I change the Message Waiting link on slot 1 to another port. I swapped the cards and the trouble stayed with the slot. I checked the pbx ports they all have mic and mck keys and ports are answering. I can not tell where the message light comes from on the pbx? I had the TN tested and the mic and mck key on the TN that relates to vmx port 16 is working. I could double check this just to make sure though.
