Main switch is a 7.0 legend and there are two satelite locations that are Magix's and they are all networked. Recently, at one of the satelite locations, the message waiting lamps stopped working. I did the "refresh" and checked the error logs and nothing appeared out of the ordinary. They have an off-brand(non Avaya)voicemail. Where do I begin my troubleshooting from this point???? Thank you in advance.

1) The phones need TTR's to light up the lights if the networking is done via T-1, not so if PRI. If you have a T-1, check on the TTR availablility at the affected site.
2) Since it is a non-Avaya VMS, it may the culprit, and not sending the mode code to turn on the lights. Probably want to check there first.

What type of voice mail? Are the MWL's only malfunctioning on the one Switch?

I forgot to mention that the lights had worked for over a year and it is all of the phones in just one of the locations.

DIAL #53 and the extension number.

If that lights the light, then the trouble is the VM, not the phones or lines.

#*53 turns it off...
